The Ministry of Roads and Highways has advised motorists to take note of the damage caused to the road linking Doli and Bole.
Heavy rains destroyed the 25 kilometres over the weekend, affecting the movement of vehicles.
It advised road users using the road to turn off at Sawla and use the Sawla-Fufulso road to connect to the N10 (Techiman-Kintampo Road).
Motorists going to Wa from the south, according to the statement, are to use the Kintampo-Techiman road, turn off at the Fufulso junction, and use the Fufulso-Sawla road to Sawla and subsequently to Wa and beyond.
Those from Wenchi to Wa are to use the new Longoro to Kintampo road to N10.
It assured residents that engineers are currently working on the road.

Serious. I am a regular traveler on Techiman-Wenchi-Bamboi-Bole-Sawla- Wa- Hamile road. The ministry of roads and highways should expedite action on that road as soon as possible. Currently vehicles from the upper west region and those from landlocked Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger will have to use the Sawla- Damango- Fufulso road to link up to Techiman and continue to Kumasi and Accra. Considering the heavy cargo these vehicles from the landlocked countries carry from our ports and the way and manner the Sawla- Damango- Fufulso road was constructed, bet me, if these long trailer vehicles use that road for one month non stop the whole of that stretch will be destroyed. I keep asking whether those engineers who supervised the construction of that road actually know their work, you don't need to be an engineer or technical person to know shoddy work was done on that road. It's like the Chinese contractors used that road as beginners to study road construction. Local contractors such as MAWUMS, P&W Ghanem, CONSAR , KOFI JOB could have done far far better than those Chinese contractors. If that road is to be saved, then something must be done fast on the Doli bridge. The regional ministers for the upper west and Savannah regions respectively should put their heads together and beef up security on the Sawla- Damango- Fufulso stretch as Armed robbers may take advantage of the heavy traffic on that road to inflict pain on passengers. The communities along that stretch are far distant from each. Most of them quality as farm settlements so the armed robbers can scatter these settlements with gun shots and the people will flee into the ***barred word*** and leave the passengers to their fate. To be forewarned is to be for armed. Hope someone is listening.
