Three Russians, a professor and two businessmen, have begun feasibility studies to develop Holuta Waterfalls into a major tourist destination in the Volta Region.

The team would help remove rocks at the foot of the Waterfalls, and expand its base for social activities.

Professor Sergey P. Kotov-Dartey, Professor of Jurisprudence and Psychology and team leader, whose father hails from Holuta was in the community with the team to mark the 10 anniversary of his reconciliation with his kinsmen.

He asked traditional authorities in the community to form a working committee to fast-track the development of the farming area.
Prof Kotov-Dartey said his teamís priorities were tourism, education and health, and called for support from all.

He presented 10 desktop computers, and some sporting kits to the community.

Bad road network, lack of potable water and the lack of health and educational infrastructure are the major needs of the community located in the Ho West District.

The Waterfalls, discovered a few years ago, is seen as having the potentials to market the area and enhance the livelihood of the natives.

A little over 1,000 tourists are said to visit the Waterfalls every Easter.
