Peacefmonline.com can confirm that daughter of Ghana’s first President and the only Convention People’s Party (CPP) Member of Parliament for the Jomoro constituency, Samia Yaba Nkrumah has won the party's chairmanship slot.

Provisional results indicates Samia Nkrumah polled 1,151 votes, incumbent chairman Ladi Nylander had 353, former Chairman Edmund Delle managed 332 and Madam Araba Bentsi-Entsil was rewarded with 10 votes.

The National Delegates Congress of the CPP is being held at the International Trade Fair Center in Accra.

Altogether, over 20 candidates vied for the various positions of the party, whiles over 2,000 delegates participated in the congress.
