There are 26 constituencies in the Western Region.
The NDC has 18 out of the 26 constituencies. All but one, in the person of Francis Kabenla Annamah of the Jomoro constituency did not pick a form to contest to become a candidate.

81 people picked forms to contest but 72 submitted their forms as at 17:00 GMT on the 10th September, 2015.

The number of females that picked forms were 5 but 3 of them submitted their forms. They are Charlotte Odum, Betty Bosomtwe Sam from the Sekondi constituency and Jane Ansah of the Takoradi constituency.

There are 22 Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief executives in the region. Only three of them submitted their forms to contest. They are Hon. Wisdom Cudjoe, Hon. Kwakye Ackah and Hon. Oscar Ofosu Larbi of the Preastea Huni-Valley, Amenfi Central and Aowin constituencies respectively.

Two former MMDCEs in the persons of Hon. Captain Rtd. Anthony Cudjoe and Kobina Tweneboah Koduah.

The Regional Minister and his deputy in the persons of Hon. Paul Evans Aidoo and Hon. Alfred Ekow Gyan respectively.

Five constituencies had one person submitting their forms. The constituencies are Shama, Wassa East, Kwesimintsim, Amenfi East and Bia East
