Mr Kweku Riccketts Hagan, Member of Parliament for Cape Coast South and Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry says he would contest the seat again in 2016 despite speculations that he would step down.
There are speculations that Mr Hagan would step down following criticisms from some of his constituents that he has not developed the area as well as his continual absence from the constituency.
Mr Hagan made the rebuttal at a New Year get-together he organised for media practitioners in the Central Region in Cape Coast.
He said there are many projects and lobbying that he has started and needs to be accomplished, hence the essence for another term.
He explained that has a busy schedule as a minister of state, compelling him to visit the constituency as often as he should.
Mr Hagan thanked the journalists for their immense contribution to the deepening of the democratic process in the region and the nation at large.
He charged them to do their work in honesty and responsible manner without fear and favour to help expose the ills in the society.
