The government of Morocco is to give scholarship to 70 Ghanaian students especially at the tertiary level to study in Morocco as part of the contribution of the Moroccan government in helping to develop the human resource of Ghana.

The Moroccan Ambassador to Ghana His Excellency Mohammed Farahat made this known today when he paid a courtesy call on Hon Frank Annoh-Dompreh Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of Parliament and MP for Nsawam/Adoagyiri at his office in Parliament House.

They discussed a wide range of issues such as trade, politics , education and agriculture.

His Excellency Mohammed Farahat expressed delight about the existing cordial relationship between Ghana and Morocco as well as the Parliaments of Ghana and Morocco.

"Bilateral relations are normally handled by governments but parliamentary diplomacy has become very effective in the modern world as a result of the hard work of Parliamentarians," His Excellency Mohammed Farahat noted.

Hon Frank Annoh-Dompreh thanked His Excellency Mohammed Farahat for his visit and hoped "relation between Ghana and Morocco will continue to be strengthened for the mutual benefit of both countries."

He recalled the role played by President Akufo-Addo in the return of Morocco to the African Union and said
"Ghana can learn a lot from Morocco especially in the area of Free Zones of which Morocco has the best expertise in Africa." 

Whilst thanking the government of Morocco for its plans to give scholarship to 70 Ghanaian students, Hon Frank Annoh-Dompreh said "critical areas of the economy such as industry and entrepreneurship must be seriously considered when selecting students for scholarship to study abroad."
