The Special Sitting of Parliament which started on Tuesday, 25th August, 2009, with the recall of MPs from recess, has ended.
The House paid tributes to Mr R. R. Amponsah, a veteran Ghanaian politician and Senator Edward Kennedy of the US.
Mr. R. R. Amponsah once served as Minister of Education and Minister of Lands and Minerals Resources in the Busia government. He also served as Chairman of the Council of Elders of the NPP.
Members who contributed to the statement made by Hon. Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, MP for Kwadaso on Mr. R. R. Amponsah praised the late astute politician for his consistency, honesty and fight for peace and unity of Ghana.
They urged all politicians in the country to emulate the good examples of the late R. R. Amponsah.
