The Get Atta Mills Endorsed (GAME) group is planning to embarrass ex-president Rawlings and his wife at the Coronation Park at Sunyani, where the National Democratic Congress (NDC) delegates’ congress is scheduled to take place from July 8 to 10, 2011.

A member of GAME who spoke to Daily Guide on the basis of anonymity said as part of the plan, which was hatched at the residency of the Brong Ahafo regional minister, sachet water would be thrown at the couple, amidst hooting and hurling of insults, when they alighted from their car.

According to the GAME member, when Rawlings mounted the podium to deliver his speech, they would make so much noise that whatever he would say would not be heard.

He said it had been planned that anyone who tried to counter what they intended doing would be beaten, and if possible barred from entering the Coronation Park.

In a related issue, Usman Kowie, an NDC panel member at Classic FM, a private radio station at Techiman, said on air that the NDC was aware of a plan hatched by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to send their macho men to Sunyani to disrupt the congress.

He said the alleged NPP macho men met at a hotel in Nkoranza to cook up their evil plan. He warned that anyone who would try to disrupt the congress would be arrested and handed over to the police for the law to take its course.

Speaking on the same radio station during its morning show hosted by Alhaji Tanko, the NPP Communications Director of Techiman South, John Donyina, cautioned all NPP supporters to stay away from the NDC congress because the supporters of the NDC had something wicked up their sleeves.

Mr. Donyna said he was also aware that some NDC hooligans would deliberately wear NPP T-shirts to cause trouble at the congress and make it seem as if the NPP supporters were to be blamed.

He said when FONKAR started pasting posters of Nana Konadu across the country, the NDC claimed it was the NPP that had made the posters until the former First Lady confirmed that she would contest president Mills.

This, in addition to rumours making the rounds that the NDC will blame the NPP if anything goes wrong at the congress, shows clearly that the NDC has some evil plans for the largest opposition party in Ghana.

Meanwhile, the FONKAR boys and girls have literally taken over the Brong Ahafo Region as they are seen criss-crossing the region with their pick-up trucks. From all indications, the Sunyani Congress will record some nasty incidents as both GAME and FONKAR are gearing up for a showdown.
