Three time contender for the Akwatia constituency seat, Baba Jamal, has declared his intention to contest again.
Baba Jamal, who is now a deputy Minister for Information, lost in all his previous attempts to represent the constituency in Parliament. He alleges he was robbed in all the previous elections but is confident that this time round he will be successful.
In an interview with Citi News, Baba Jamal said with the introduction of biometric registration and the NDC government in power the election will be devoid of intimidation which will make it free and fair.
Im going back as a parliamentary candidate, no doubt at all about that. Ive been stolen and cheated three times. Double voting: one person has his name on all the polling stations registers. Some have their names ten times".
As long as I continue to be cheated, I will continue to plead my case with the people. The last time I took the case to court I was knocked out technically but the details and the issue itself was not dealt with. And I had evidence to prove that a place like Wenchi, one town (with) four polling stations in the town, all of them voted over 100 percent".
I know the people love me and I will continue to plead my case before them but Insha Allah this time, I know (I will win).
