The First Lady, Mrs Ernestina Naadu Mills, has categorically denied ever receiving $5 million from embattled businessman Alfred Woyome, as claimed by Director of Operations of Friends of Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings (FONKAR), Ernest Owusu-Bempah.
Ernest Owusu-Bempah, in his umpteenth and perhaps most abrasive attack on the Mills administration, on Thursday accused the First Lady in flowery Twi on Boiling Point, a political discussion programme on Accra-based Oman FM that "Mrs. Naadu Mills collected $5 million from the Woyome judgment debt, an amount which he got with no contract arrangement with the government of Ghana.
But government has stridently denied the allegation describing it as false, baseless and unfounded".
A statement issued by a Deputy Minister of Information, James Agyenim-Boateng, said "there is no iota of truth in the said allegation.
The attention of the Office of the First Lady, Her Excellency Mrs Naadu Mills, has been drawn to a publication claiming that she has benefitted from a five million dollar donation from Mr Alfred Woyome.
The First Lady categorically denies being a beneficiary of any such payment as purported by the story, the statement added.
