The former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings, has revealed she has not been formally invited to the upcoming rally of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), a party founded by her husband.
Mrs. Rawlings, who was a former first vice chairperson of the NDC, told The Finder newspaper that she was unaware of any rally coming off at James Town, Accra.
What launch? I am not aware of anything of the sort, she told the newspaper.
My brother, how can I go to a programme that I do not know about? You are telling me for the first time so it is obvious I do not know where or what time it would he held, Mrs. Rawlings said when the newspaper reporter pushed further.
Also, she could not tell if her husband, former President J.J. Rawlings, had been invited or not.
You asked me if I had been invited and I cannot speak for him [Rawlings] on this issue. But if he had been invited he would have told me or I would have known about it, Mrs. Rawlings said.
The Coordinator of affairs of the former first family, Emmanuel Saint Osei, also corroborated Mrs Rawlings assertions, adding that the office is yet to receive any formal invitation.
