THE GA Dangme Initiative, a pressure group has expressed worry over how the National Democratic Congress (NDC) had taken undue advantage of the silence of the Ga people to project its campaign programmes and strengthen its agenda.

A statement issued in Accra signed by J. W. L. Nanka-Bruce, spokesman for group said this strategy by the NDC government was unacceptable adding that with these uninspired strategies, the Ga Dangme Initiative wants to make it vehemently clear that under no circumstance should any political party underestimate the intelligence of the Gas in the arena of politics.

The statement noted that it was time for issues related to Gas and their lands to be excluded from the propaganda and campaign messages of all political parties whether in government or opposition.

According to the release, the grouping was concerned about statements and developments emanating from the Supreme Court ruling on Jake Obetsebi-Lampteys land purchase.

It is like the morality concept of cabinet has emerged with fiat to topple the decision of the Supreme Courts judgment on that particular land, it noted saying Ghanas judicial system is very unique and operates with confidence within the sphere of the law, with respectable dimension, where morality expression has no base in the application of legality.

It said the concept of cabinet morality under President Mills could not be accepted by the general public since it could jeopardize the standard of sustainability in Ghanas legal books.

The statement stressed that the Ga Dangme Initiative was of the view that Mr. Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey being a Ghanaian had to be accorded equal value and dignity like anyone else.

Mr. Obetsebi-Lamptey has done everything with principles as expected of him, and has also committed himself to do things that conformed within the rules and schedules of the agreement in respect of his land acquisition and it is appropriate to subject him to suitable circumstance.

Stressing further, the release said it is important that cabinet accords every Ghanaian due respect without political discrimination. In this situation however, it appears the hatred by cabinet has captured the centre stage of the acquisition.

The group said the ruling of the case by the Supreme Court has convincingly proved that the land was genuinely acquired, and should go to the purchaser without question therefore the decision of cabinet was a reversal of genuine opinion of the law that would derail the democracy.

Indeed President Mills and his cabinet should be mindful of the fact that if this prejudice still stands against the capability of the judicial service and the law, then the whole cabinet has goofed completely and has further demonstrated a strong denial of justice, which is very contemptuous in nature, the statement said.

President Mills and his cabinet should adhere to the rule of law and respect the Supreme Court of Ghana in the legal environment, it emphasized.
