Others were Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, deputy Minister of Information, Stan Dogbe, special aide to the President, Lugwig Hlodge, national youth organiser, and Haristo Aryee, Greater Accra Regional Secretary among others.
Party officials took turns to address the teeming crowd.
Nii Lantey Vanderpuye: I have come to continue from where my predecessors left off. The time has come for us to work. We must unite to ensure victory for the NDC. There are a lot to prove that the ruling party has done enough in this constituency. We have come to improve on the wellbeing of Ghanaians. This is our time. If you are a Ga-Dangme and you are a member of the NPP please defect to the NDC. Their very own Ken Agyapong has called on people to kill us. We have to reject the.
We have lined up six thematic areas to tackle in our second term:
a) Social infrastructural development b) Human resource development C) Sanitation d) Health the James Town Maternity home will be commissioned as a three-story e) Sports well establish a soccer academy to produce our future stars
Finally, the James Town cold store will come into fruition next month and the James Town beach will see massive rehabilitation. Dont be deceived by the NPP. Vote massively for the NDC because we have brought the light.
Elvis Afriyie Ankrah: Our works are speaking for us. We have improved the school feeding programme, the national ambulance service and healthcare. We are bringing a lot of employment in our second term because for us People matter, you matter.
Jonathan Nii Tackie Commey: Odododiodioo has seen massive development under the NDC government. We have to retain the NDC as a party to continue with the massive infrastructural development under President Mills.
Samuel Ofosu Ampofo: We have Ghanaians at heart. Dont allow any opposition to lure you. You have a party that is in power. All these judgment debt issues were caused by the NPP when they were in power.
Okudzeto Ablakwa: NDC is winning the 2012 elections one-touch. Today is the Presidents birthday and we are very happy to gather here as one family. Next year by this time well all be happy to have him as our president. NPP has been going round and making noise accusing us that we have taken their slogan People matter, you matter. Everybody knows their slogan All die be die.
We are known for caring for the people. Those who say all die be die cant say that they care for the people. For us the people matter and you matter. When Nana Addo says there are holes in the pockets of the Ghanaian worker we agree with him, because the money we put in there are so heavy so there are holes. The NPP is a party of contradiction. You cant rely on their promises.
77% of their manifesto promises were not fulfilled. They said they will construct rail line from South to Burkina Faso and it never happened. So if today, they are promising free SHS and Zongo Development find we cant trust them.
We must not allow the NPP to win the Odododiodioo constituency. Were going into this election to win because we have worked very hard. You can see the good works of the President new road projects all over the country. We will win the elections because we have carried out our mandate with all manner of transparency. For the first time a government in less than three years has constructed two new universities. We have so much to show in our first term. Its not possible that Nana Addo is a transformational leader. He brought nothing new to the A-Gs department. Dont be deceived, vote for the president that you can trust.
Boxer and entertainer, Bukom Banku, has mounted the podium and mesmerizing the crowd with his rib-breaking jokes. He has impressed on the jubilant crowd to help the NDC push the Elephant (NPP) to the bush.
Lugwig Hlodze: Im happy to see all the former MPs of this constituency are here. Its a clear sign of unity in the party. Were going to win this election hands down. We will score 67% in this constituency. The party is full of young people and these are the type of people we want to run this country. NDC is the only party that has your future. Please vote for the party because NPP is full of old people who cant deliver. We have used our first term to fix the problems and its now time to give us a second term to deliver.
