Former president John Jerry Rawlings has called into question the integrity of polls conducted by renowned pollster, Ben Ephson.

The former President was reacting to Ben Ephson’s predictions that Nana Konadu’s NDP will struggle to make any political mark if he (Rawlings) does not mount her campaign platform.

The former president who was speaking to Joy FM announced that his wife who’s billed to contest as the flagbearer of the breakaway National Democratic Party has his blessings in her bid to become the first female President of Ghana.

He said his wife will have his support just like some other candidates in the forth coming elections.

According to Rawlings, “When you’ve walked her in her shoes that she’s been through since 1979 etc, you might probably do the same thing she’s doing…”

Rawlings' endorsement of his wife’s candidature as flag bearer of NDP makes murkier, his stance in the ruling NDC after his endorsement of President Mahama at a recent gathering in the Volta region.

But Mr Ephson maintained that Mr. Rawlings' remarks on his polls will not change his prediction on Konadu’s chances in the upcoming general elections.
