Former Campaign Manager for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Arthur Kennedy says the contents of the leaked audio tape attributed to the party’s National Youth Organiser, could be a playful talk by an enthusiastic young man.

Dr. Arthur Kennedy says such fun talks are not uncommon during election periods such as this.

Speaking on the Ephson’s File on Tuesday, the politician turned-lecturer said it is not uncommon to see politicians engaging in psychological warfare during elections.

“A lot of people don’t understand campaigns. Around campaigns, there is a lot of what I call idle talk about violence and ways and means and all that. I can’t count how often I have heard people in the NPP about how NDC will bring people from Burkina Faso and Togo and others who are not citizens to vote,” he said.

He however vouched for the integrity of the flagbearer of the NPP, Nana Akufo-Addo and party Chairman, Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey, insisting that having known them for a while, he is certain they will not countenance anything that seeks to destroy the country.

Dr. Arthur Kennedy however noted the leaked tape mania that has gripped the country is exposing the hypocrisy on both side of the political divide .

He said those in the NPP who wanted the National Organiser of the National Democratic Congress to be arrested will now struggle to take a position on the current leaked tape and vice versa.

Meanwhile, Anthony Karbo says the leaked tape is a fabrication and concoction from the stables of the propaganda machinery of the NDC.
