President John Mahama says he is unperturbed by what he describes as insults and lies directed at his person by his political opponents in an apparent attempt to distract him from winning the impending elections.

He assured the people that he would not engage in the politics of insult and neither will he superintend same stressing politics is not dirty; it is politicians who make politics dirty.

According the President some of his political opponents are peddling falsehood and lies because they cannot not match what he says is the numerous achievement of the NDC government.

Addressing a rally at the Sefwi Wiaso in the Western region on Tuesday night, the president said he believes GhanAians are discerning people who will be able to determine which candidate and party has their interest at heart.

President Mahama said when politicians realize that their electoral fortunes are dwindling; they engage resort to character assassination in order to claw back some gains.

This will not make us surrender, we will do what well do, he said, adding no man can destroy someone who has been blessed by God.

President Mahama said he will not be tricked into responding to such unwarranted attacks on his person and that the judgement of those engaging in such an act will soon be meted out to them.The Chiefs and people of Juabeso demonstrated their love and endorsement of President Mahama by staying late into the night and defying a heavy downpour to receive him.

Tens of thousands of people, mostly youthful, and the chiefs refused to go home or seek shelter when the heavens poured down around midnight on Monday while waiting for the arrival of President John Mahama.

With chants of NDC- I dey be k3k3 the party supporters and well wishers drummed and danced when the president finally entered the durbar ground. The excitement and wait got to an ecstatic level when President Mahama got out of his vehicles and walked through the rain to greet the chiefs.

Reacting to the concern of the chiefs about the slow pace of work by a contractor on the major roads in the area, President Mahama promised to ensure that the pace is quickened to bring relief to the people.

He also thanked the chiefs for recognising the various developmental projects undertaken in the area under the Better Ghana Agenda, noting that it is only when we count out blessings as a people that God will continue to bless us.

The Chiefs on behalf of the people assured President Mahama that Juabesoman cannot fail to recognise the progress the area has made since 2009, and are confident that things will be even better during the NDCs second term.

President Mahamas campaign took him to various parts of the region including Amenfi East and West, Amenfi Central, Bia East and West, Bodi, Juabeso, Sefwi Wiawso, Aowin and Suaman, Tarkwa Nsaeum among others.
