A survey conducted by the Centre for Creativity (CFC Ghana), has shown mixed results for the two leading parties, NDC and NPP in their traditional strongholds.
The survey indicates that whereas 98 percent respondents in the Volta Region say NDC's John Mahama will have the backing of the region, 56 percent of respondents in Ashanti say NPP's Nana Akufo Addo may not get the backing of the region.
In all, one thousand indigenes and card bearing members of the parties of the two regions were interviewed, and they gave various reasons for their positions.
The survey results were announced at a news conference addressed by the Executive Director of the Centre for Creativity, Abdel Rahman in Accra.
