My attention has been drawn to news circulating in media outlets, particularly social media, that I have made a statement to the effect that;
The [NPP] evidence is not convincing enough, and going to court will be very disastrous for us [NPP].
Also, I am purported to have said that;
I do not want to be part of this going forward, - the evidence does not add up; we should be careful we do not destroy the party further"
I would like our supporters and the general public to disregard these statements and treat them with the contempt they deserve.
I have made no such statements or remarks on any platform, neither in private nor in public.
I would like to reassure all those who believe in true democracy to remain calm but resolute in our quest for justice.
At the National Executive Council meeting, which I attended, it was unanimously decided that the party shall reject and contest the results in court. Following this meeting, I confirmed my commitment to the partys position when the leadership met our teaming supporters at Obra Spot, Kwame Nkrumah Circle. My position on the matter has not changed, and I have absolute confidence in the decision taken by the NPP leadership.
I believe the New Patriotic Party led by our flag bearer, Nana Akufo Addo, has a very strong case and therefore, I am optimistic that justice shall prevail when we have our day in court.
