Newly Elected MPs Poised To Justify Inclusion In Work

Newly elected MPs say they are poised for the work ahead. They say as they are entering Parliament for the first time, they are prepared to work extra hard to gain the needed experience in the legislature.

Speaking to Radio Ghana in separate interviews on the sidelines of their Registration in Parliament, they expressed their desire to bolster the development of their constituency.

The Registration by Parliament is to collate a comprehensive data on all elected Members of the incoming Parliament.

First to speak to Radio Ghana's correspondent was the MP elect for Krachi West, Helen Adjoa Ntoso.

The incoming representative for the Juaben Constituency, Ama Pomaa Andoh said her background as a social entrepreneur will be brought to bear in her work.

The MP elect for Agona West, Charles Obeng-Inkoom said though the stakes are high for him, he is bent on facilitating the development of his area.

The incoming MP for Yagaba Kubori Mustapha Ussif was also optimistic about improving the lot of his constituency through his work.

Meanwhile, the 7th January inaugural date for the sixth parliament of the fourth Republic might be derailed by the provision of the Transition Law.

The Director of Public Affairs of Parliament, Jones Kugbenu, says however the contradiction could be cleared before the proposed date to ensure a smooth inauguration of the next Parliament before January 7.

He was speaking to Journalists at the start of the registration of elected MPs.
