Ex-President Kufour has called on President Mahama to seek external support to help solve the energy and water crisis that is making life unbearable for many Ghanaians.
When you get to a point where things are not moving on smoothly in your country, you need to seek for help until you can do it on your own.
In an interview with an Accra based radio station, Hot FM, Former President Kufour indicated that the President of Liberia Ellen Johnson Sirlef sought Ghanas support under his leadership to solve its energy crisis for the people of Liberia.
He also recalled how his administration sought the support of the Nigerian government under the leadership of former President Olusegun Obasanjo to solve similar energy crisis when there was no crude oil and money for payments.
According to him, all he had to do was write a letter of credit to confirm payments.
I made him aware that I needed help since the absence of crude oil to my people could lead to me leaving office. Olusegun Obasanjo told me that they had a principal which says in the absence of money there wont be any crude. But since I have come all the way, I should just write a letter indicating that, I would pay the money when given the crude oil. Right there I wrote the letter.
Former President Kuffour has advised President Mahama to demonstrate leadership by exploring all available options as he struggles to resolve the crisis.
What I am saying is that, we are not adults who as good parents do not know what our kids would eat. This is because if we dont take care our progress would be delayed.
