General Secretary for the New Patriotic Party, lawyer Kwadwo Afriyie, has accused Mr. Kwame Pianim of availing himself for “gibberish” talks because of the severity of his loneliness and menopausal stage which pushes him to flare up just to get little attention to satisfy his soul.

Lawyer Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie made this observation on Okay FM’s "Ade Kye Abia" programme; when he was interviewed by the host to share his view on comments by Kwame Pianim to the effect that NPP executives exhibited “intellectual and mental laziness” during the elections.

Mr. Kwame Pianim, is on record to have told the Africawatch magazine that the Presidential candidate of the NPP, Nana Akufo-Addo and members of the party, should have had the courage to confront defeat because “it is good for democracy and the nation”.

In his view, the party is heading in the wrong direction and “until the Supreme Court reverses the declared results of the 2012 elections, all Ghanaians, including NPP members, must fully recognize President Mahama as the legitimate Head of State of the republic and Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces”.

But in a sharp riposte to Mr. Pianim’s advice, Sir John catalogued a litany of factors that must have informed the former to speak at this hour when the NPP as a party, was fighting President Mahama in court.

Lawyer Afriyie indicted Mr. Pianim of being a mole in the NPP and voting for President Mahama during last year’s election.

He warned Mr. Pianim not to delude himself as the repository of wisdom and cautioned him to season his words when he utters them.

“If Kwame Pianim finds fault with the way NPP leaders speak, then am sorry to inform him that so many people of his kind call us to congratulate us after we have spoken...if we are to follow Kwame Pianim and respond to everything he says, we would end up saying unacceptable things,” he said.

Sir John also put forward that Mr. Pianim’s old age and the effect of “menopause” coerced him to make grammatical statements which has no “meanings”.

“When menopause sets in, people like Kwame Pianim wake up and make gibberish statements. He just puts words together and say them,” he added.

Sir John closed the chapter on Kwame Pianim by emphasizing that he isn’t surprised the controversy is coming from a “self acclaimed NPP man”, who has told the whole world that he can’t defend former president Kufour in times of trouble but could vouch for the late former President Mills’ cleanliness when it comes to corruption in politics.
