A member of the communications team of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP), Charles Owusu has bemoaned astute economist, Kwame Pianim; stating that he has descended into the gutters from his level as an elderly in the NPP by going public with issues of the party.

He stressed that the public exhibition of Kwame Pianim’s attitude on the NPPs petition in court about the 2012 general elections indicates that he is working for his pay masters who may have paid him to deliberately divert the attention of Ghanaians and possibly influence the court verdict.

The PPP communicator speaking on Okay FM Wednesday, set the record straight that the NDC boycotted Parliament for 14 days when they were in opposition because of Dan Abodakpe; and queried that, where were these men who feel they are sensible than everyone to advise the NDC to stop the boycott.

He however stated that it will be wrong for the NPP to exempt itself from the court case as Kwame Pianim has suggested, because the party’s chairman, Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey is part of the petitioners, as well as its 2012 elections flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo.

He expressed surprise that it was this same Kwame Pianim who upon the outcome of the December 2012 elections advised that the only option left with the NPP was to go to court, but quickly inquired why the sudden change of mind; stressing that it is looks as if Kwame Pianim is working for his pay masters.

He admitted that every political party like a family has issues to deal with, but according to him it does not mean the members of the party should dent the image of the party in public; and that if Kwame Pianim has anything to say in the party, he should consider the over 5 million Ghanaians who want the matter to be resolved in court.

Charles Owusu queried the liberal politician that which one is wrong; is it to resort to coup plot as he (Kwame Pianim) did in 1996 or the action of court to redress elections dispute as Nana Akufo-Addo has done.

According to the PPP communicator, he does not see any sense in taking this matter to the media when Kwame Pianim could have discussed the issue with the leaders of the party if he meant well for the NPP.

He advised that if he did not succeed in becoming a leader of the party, Kwame Pianim should not try to ruin Nana Akufo-Addo’s chance of becoming the President.

He reiterated that the country has reached the cross road and the nation needs leaders like Kwame Pianim to help solve the erratic power outage, the water shortage, the bad road and filth which has engulfed the country.
