The National Security on Friday invited retired Military Captain Budu Koomson to answer questions over his recent claims that the current economic and socio-political situation in Ghana could trigger a coup.
The retired Military Captain asserted on an Accra based radio station Oman Fm that the numerous agitations and strikes in the country coupled with the power and water crises and the ongoing election petition case, could be used as a launch pad for a coup.
The veracity of the statement has become a contentious issue but the Defense Minister, Mark Wayongo in an interview with Citi News rubbished the claims with the assurance that the soldiers in the country were preoccupied with protecting the constitution of the country.
