Cabinets decision to approve the conduct of Public Officers Bill has been welcomed by the Executive Director of the Ghana Integrity Initiative, Vitus Azeem.
The anti-corruption bill also known as the Conduct of Public Officers' Bill was approved by cabinet to provide coherent and harmonized anti-corruption legislation.
The bill is also expected to create room for Ghanaians to report public officials who they suspect are engaged in nefarious acts
Mr. Vitus Azeem explains that the harmonisation of various anti-corruption acts will not only prevent duplication of laws, but also reduce ambiguities associated with current ones.
Mr Azeem told Radio Ghana that the passage of the bills into laws is not as important as the functions in accelerating progress.
