The New Patriotic Party (NPP’s) flagbearer race and who leads the opposition party to face the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) and other political parties in 2016, has been the subject of discussion for months.

Undeniable, the competition has become keener after NPP’s 2008 and 2012 presidential candidate, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo hinted his return to lead the party in 2016.

Nana Addo’s main challenger, Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten, has also made his intentions clear to once again join in the race for the upcoming NPP’s presidential position.

The new face who is likely to join the flag-bearer-ship race is the former Member of Parliament for Asokwa, Maxwell Kofi Jumah.

Outspoken Kofi Jumah also known as Kofi Ghana stated categorically that he aspire to contest in the party’s polls to select its flagbearer for the 2016 presidential elections.

“Who said I don’t have interest in contesting for the position? I have interest in the flagbearership race of the NPP…of course I have interest,” he said on Asempa FM

Indeed, if Kofi Jumah had made this utterance in the presence of the District Chief Executive for Ahafo Ano South in the Ashanti Region, Mr Gabriel Barima, he would have queried his reasons to contest for the position just as he wanted to know who said “Twiaaaa” whiles speaking at a recent function.
