The main opposition party, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) over the weekend held its Regional elections.

One of the regions which caught the attention of many political pundits especially members of the NPP was the Ashanti Region.

The chairmanship position in the region was keenly contested by Mr. Bernard Antwi-Bosiako, aka Chairman Wontumi, a former Bosomtwe Constituency Chairman, and Mr Kwame Osei Prempeh, a former Member of Parliament (MP) for Nsuta-Kwamang-Beposo.

At the end of the day, Chairman Wontumi emerged as the winner.
