National Womens Organizer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Otiko Afisa Djaba has accused her deputy of sabotaging her ambition to retain her position, ahead of the partyís delegate congress on April 12 in Tamale.

Madam Tina Mensah also contesting the National Womenís Organizer position has questioned Otikoís allegiance and loyalty to the party.

According to her, given Otiko Djabaís relation with the sitting President, John Mahama, she cannot be said to be a true member of the NPP. ďOtiko is the first cousin of President Mahama so if I were her, I will not contest any position in NPP,Ē Tina Mensah added.

But in a riposte on Asempa FMís Ekosii Sen programme Friday, Otiko Afisa Djaba described as unfortunate the unfounded claims by her deputy.

She said it is an established fact that President Mahama is her first cousin but ďit does not mean I support him. My destiny is with NPP and no one can force me outĒ.

Otiko Djaba likened the conduct of her deputy Womens Organizer to the former heavy weight champion, Mike Tyson who bit off his opponentís ear when he [Tyson] could not defeat him.

ďIf you [Tina Mensah] canít fight me; donít bite my ear like Mike Tyson did to HolyfieldĒ. The NPP Womens Organizer said she is not perturbed by the ďdesperateĒ attempt by ďenemies of progress to bring me down". ďA deputyís role is to support the elected officer and not to sabotage her. Winners never quit so if you [Tina] canít beat me, join meĒ.

Otiko Djaba was confident party delegates will on April 12, vote massively for her to continue to ensure a landslide victory for the NPP in the 2016 general elections.

ďI believe sincerely that come April 12, NPP delegates will vote for me to work hard to bring the party back to power," she said.
