The President, John Dramani Mahama, together with the First Lady, Lordina Mahama, signed the book of condolence for the late Paul Victor Obeng at his residence.

The President led a government delegation to visit the family to commiserate with them on the demise of Mr. Obeng; his senior advisor.

He described him as an “energetic encourager… and an admirable unifier and giant of our political landscape over the last 30 years.”

PV Obeng died on Saturday after suffering an asthmatic attack while driving towards his home on the Spintex road, Accra.

Until his untimely death, he served as the chairman of the National Development Planning Commission and served as the President’s senior advisor.

He also played an active role during the just ended National Economic Forum at Senchi in the Eastern region where the President lauded his contribution to the forum in his closing remarks.
