The New Patriotic Party is considering an out of court settlement in a legal case challenging the processes leading to its presidential primaries.
Executives want to ensure the partys timetable for the presidential primaries is not disrupted. The court case was initiated by a man who describes himself as a paid up NPP member.
David Hoezame in a writ sighted by JOYNEWS is seeking the court to nullify the December 6th date set for the partys presidential primaries.
Hes also asking the court to compel the party and its chairman to follow the constitutionally prescribed process in setting up the national council.
The development could throw the partys primaries calendar out of gear and predispose it to various constitutional breaches.
Second Vice Chairman of the party, Sammy Crabbe, said the party will push for an out of court settlement.
He described as unfortunate how the party has allowed such things to befall it, but was confident the strategy we might adopt will include an out of court settlement.
Sammy Crabbe indicated that the national leadership is ready to accept their mistakes if it is established they erred in the way.
