President John Dramani Mahama might be going through turbulent times not because of how the opposition New Patriotic Party is harassing him, but the way his own household is allegedly meddling in governance affairs.

The President is likely to lose the services of five key cabinet ministers in the coming days.

The Enquirer is reliably informed by a flawless source at the Presidency that the five ministers have complained of constant interferences in the performance of their duty as cabinet ministers.

Shockingly, the First Lady has been named in the alleged interferences, as she is said to have poked her nose in the work of some of the five cabinet ministers.

The Enquirer has it that the five ministers have served notice of their intended resignation to some bigwigs of the party.

The paper’s source at the Presidency has it that there are murmurings within the corridors of power about the First Lady’s alleged interferences in the work of government appointees and ministers.

According to the sources, the issue popped up sometime back, but was discarded because President Mahama is well known to be decisive in his dealings.

However, the source told The Enquirer it is coming up strongly in recent times and that was an indication that there was something fundamentally wrong in the government handling of nation’s affairs.

The source at the presidency, who sounded worried over the developments, told The Enquirer that when the issue of the resignation of the five cabinet ministers came up, some people felt that it was a joke, but it was turning out to be something serious and disturbing.

The source was, however, quick to add the issue would be attended to immediately to avert any toll on the President.

The paper was told that the party elders and the big wigs would not allow the issue to be swept under the carpet.

President Mahama in recent times has come under intense fire from within the NDC, especially on his decision about Messrs Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah and Joseph Yammi, immediate minister and deputy minister of sports respectively, over the poor performance of the Ghana Black Stars in the Brazil 2014 world cup. The old hawks within the NDC were not happy with president’s decision to reassign the two.

They wanted the president to fire the then minister and his deputy outright while the whole Brazil 2014 fiasco was investigated.
