THE 2012 PRESIDENTIAL Candidate of the NPP, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has blamed President John Mahama for the economic difficulties confronting the country presently.

He has consequently charged Ghanaians to vote President Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) out of power come 2016, so that people who have the wherewithal would implement policies to salvage the ailing economy.

Ghana, he stated, is a democratic nation, and so if the people want change in the management of the country they should use their voting power in 2016 to remove President Mahama from power.

Nana Akufo-Addo was speaking when the National Executives of the Assembly Members Volunteers’ Club visited him in Kumasi to openly declare their support for his flagbearership ambition.

He said that the managers of the economy were not doing something right and that had resulted in the severe economic difficulties confronting the country and its people. He stated that the country urgently needed change in leadership.

Nana Akufo-Addo admitted that indeed life was difficult for Ghanaians due to the appalling manner in which the NDC government was managing the economy, noting that the NDC government seemed not to care for the ordinary people.

The NPP guru observed with pain that Ghanaians had continuously expressed concern over the way the economy was being mismanaged, but President Mahama and his team had so far failed to take any concrete action(s).

Nana Akufo-Addo said the only way Ghanaians could overcome their present predicament was for the electorate to exercise their franchise in 2016 by voting out President Mahama and his incompetent NDC administration.

He said he was now working on his bid to lead the NPP as its flagbearer for the 2016 elections, stressing that he would hit the streets and campaign vigorously for the presidency if he was elected as NPP flagbearer by the party’s delegates.

Nana Akufo-Addo said December 7, 2016 presents a golden opportunity for Ghanaian electorate to cause a change in the management of the country. He said he was expecting the electorate to do the right thing by voting the NDC out of office come 2016.

Kwabena Nsenkkyire, Director of Operations, Assembly Members Volunteers’ Club, said his group was formed eight months ago to represent the interest of the grassroots.

According to him, people in their various electoral areas in Ghana had put pressure on the assembly members to help Nana Akufo-Addo to become president and implement his free education policy.

Nsenkyire explained that pressure from the masses influenced his group’s decision to root for Nana Akufo-Addo to become NPP flagbearer and eventually president of Ghana in 2016.

He said his group would work to protect Nana Akufo-Addo’s votes during the 2016 polls at the various polling stations, adding that their prime wish was to see Nana Akufo-Addo become Ghana’s next president.
