A former Ghanaian legislator, Eric Amoateng, who served a 10-year jail term in the United States, is expected to return home today, Thursday, August 7.

According to officials at the Kotoka International Airport Ghanas only international airport Amoateng, who was arrested in the United States on December 11, 2005 for illegal possession of 136 pounds of heroin with a street value of about six million dollars, is expected to be interrogated by Narcotics Control Board (NACOB) officials to keep track of his movement whiles in Ghana.
The state-owned Ghanaian Times earlier reported that a NACOB source had indicated that the procedure of filling the form was not peculiar to Amoateng alone, adding that it was a general guideline that every deportee on drug offences was supposed to follow.
