A political science lecturer at the University Of Ghana, Dr. Aggrey Darko, has asked members and leaders of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) to heed the warning of its founder Jerry Rawlings or risk losing the 2016 general elections.
The former President on Tuesday said the bad image of the Mahama-led administration could prevent the National Democratic Congress (NDC) party from winning in 2016.
Jerry John Rawlings added that the President had not shown enough commitment to the fight against corruption. Some in government and party officials have criticized his comments but Dr. Aggrey Darko says the NDC need to take the former presidents words seriously.
He is very much aware of the developments in the country at the moment; there are some economic challenges which call for rethinking, revitalisation and reinvigouration, he told Citi News
If he is calling on all of us to sit up and galvanise the people, it is a call in the right direction. These recommendations and suggestions are based on the desire to see the nation develop, so why not?, he added.
