In an interview published in the current issue of the 'Africa Watch Magazine,' Nana Akufo-Addo, was asked you have run for president twice and lost on both occasions. What makes you think that you will be successful in 2016 if you win the NPP presidential nomination?
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) 2008 and 2012 flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo, has this answer, there is nothing that shows I will not be successful because this is my third attempt. Indeed, history is replete with several instances where people made several attempts at their countrys presidency or other positions in life.
The 11-pages of interview covered a wide range of topics, another being why Nana Akufo-Addo was not quitting after two defeats.
This is Nanas answer: The great Winston Churchill said: Failure is not fatal. It is the courage to continue that counts. There are several examples of leaders who tripped but kept going and won. Abraham Lincoln, K.A. Busia, Francois Mitterrand, J.A. Kufuor, Mwai Kibaki, Abdoulaye Wade, John Atta-Mills and leaders who lost more than once before finally winning. I do not consider myself, the NPP or Ghana to be a stranger in this area.
