The National Chairman of the United Front party (UFP) has accused the party’s Presidential Candidate in the 2012 general elections, Akwesi Addai Odike of plotting to assassinate him.

According to Nana Agyenim Boateng also known as Gyataba, the leader of the party in the 2012 elections deems him as a threat to his chances of leading the party in the next general elections.

“…I have credible information that Odike wants to eliminate me. He even sent thugs after me after the curses he invoked failed to kill me,” he said on Okay FM.

Gyataba said what prompted his decision to lodge a complaint with the Osu Police was a confirmation of the death threats being issued by Mr. Odike, by the leader of Great Consolidated People’s Party (GCPP), Dr. Henry Lartey.

“Dr. Henry Lartey also called me that I should be very careful because of the fact that Odike wants me dead,” he alleged.

In a separate interview, Dr. Henry Lartey confirmed cautioning Gyataba to be wary of his former flagbearer, Kwesi Addai Odike because of the disclosures he had made in their private conversations.

“…he always spoke about taking out Gyataba because he is becoming an impediment in his becoming a flagbearer again. I also advised that was not the way to go anytime he brought the issue up, but he has now turned against me. I am teamed up with Gyataba against him,” he revealed.

On the word of Gyataba, however, the Osu Police are have invited Akwesi Addai Odike, the Presidential candidate of the UFP for questioning.
