As the New Patriotic Party [NPP] gears up to hold its Special Electoral College to elect the first [5] leading contenders to battle for the flagbearer position, a leading member of the youth front of the Party as admonished presidential hopeful, Alan Kyeremanten not to resign from the party should he lose eventually.

David Asante, who is the spokesperson for the pressure group “Let My Vote Count Alliance” in an with Peacefmonline.com, says his caution statement stems from the action embarked on by the flagbearer hopeful (Alan) after he resigned from the party in 2008 when he was soundly beaten by Nana Addo.

“Resigning from the party [NPP] immediately you lose an election is certainly not the way to go in building the party to make it a formidable force to recapture power,” he said.

The NPP communication team member further opined that, it will be surprising if any presidential hopeful, “specifically Alan Kyeremanten” resign from the party after the up-coming flagbearership race.

“The party needs a united front for elections 2016, the aspirants must recognize the obligation to match political strength with political restraint. They must be prepared for either a win or lose, the confrontation of power and the limitation of power, defending the party’s interest and negotiate individual interest, this is a path which I edge all aspirants to pursue before, during and after congress,” he added.

He stressed that, “The aspirants must in unison fight against poverty, misery, deteriorated health and education system coupled with deep rooted corruption and flagrant mismanagement of the economy under the Mahama-led government”

He however called on all the aspirants to rally behind whoever emerges as the winner and not to quit, because “the rich experience and individual expertise the various candidates possess, are needed for election 2016 to help the party capture power”.

“No memorial oration or eulogy could more eloquently honor the memories of the founding fathers of this great Party than the earliest possible declaration of unity and cohesion in support of the acclaimed winner of the contest, irrespective of the outcome of the congress, we will derive not weakness, but strength , unity of purpose that all contestants will act and work in support of the winner to prosecute the campaign of the NPP to March forward for victory 2016” he told Peacefmonline.com/
