Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, 2012 running mate of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) says the results Nana Akufo Addo had after the Super Delegates Congress will be repeated on October 18, during the National Delegates Congress.
Speaking to some 61 delegates from the Western Region, Dr Mahamudu said he was convinced that what transpired in the Special Electoral College on August 31, which saw Nana Akufo-Addo receive an 80.81% endorsement from 740 delegates, is a true reflection of what will transpire in the October 18 presidential primary.
He appealed to the delegates to once again show that there is massive support for Nana Addo in the NPP, explaining that a massive victory for Nana Akufo-Addo will give the NPP a major lift ahead of election 2016.
If out of 740 voters, who are largely founding fathers, constituency chairmen and regional executives, MPs, National Executive Committee and National Council members, 81% voted for Nana Akufo-Addo, it is a good indication that that is the will of the grassroots of the party, he added.
