Presidential Staffer, Dr. Clement Apaak says President John Mahama is committed to the fight against the drug menace which has put the country in the negative light globally.

According to him, drug trade is a serious crime that demands nationalistic approach to bring the perpetrators and collaborators in the 12.5kilos of cocaine to book but added that the Minority, particularly the NPP has decided to politicize the Nayele Ametefes cocaine saga.

Speaking on Okay FMs Ade Akye Abia Morning Show, Dr. Apaak reiterated that the NPP from the onset of the cocaine issue went on social media to link the busted cocaine lady with a member of the NDC.

He added that the opposition quickly changed their tactics with the issue of diplomatic passport when the first did not wash, but with this he said they have been proven wrong by the government and the British High Commission.

However, he described the attempt of the NPP as desperate as it was dramatically displayed by the deputy Minority leader of Parliament, followed by their pres conference to raise questions which have already been answered.

He further emphasized that the alacrity with which this government and President Mahama have moved to arrest the public officials who allegedly helped to move these drugs on the plane and publishing her associates shows the determination of the President to fight the drug menace.

Let me emphasize that this government and President Mahama is very determined to fight the drug menace head-on. You can see the speed and alacrity with which the government has moved to take the needed action, not only in arresting the public officials who are this moment alleged to have been used to help move these drugs on the plane; her associates in this move have all been published. The President will do what is right in the interest of the people so that our image is not tarnished...this government will not allow anyone to get away with it. Ghanaians are going to see the evidence clearly in this case, he emphasized.
