PRESIDENT JOHN Mahama on Saturday broke his silence on a video showing currently on the internet, in which he was seen happily dancing with the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at the Manhyia Palace last week.

The president stated emphatically that the video doesn’t change the fact that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration, led by him, had upgraded the Kumasi Airport.

“Irrespective of a video of me and the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, dancing which is on the internet and other social network platforms, the Kumasi Airport had seen massive improvement.”

President Mahama, by his posture, doesn’t seem happy about the video which seemed to have been recorded via somebody’s mobile phone. He was speaking during the NDC national delegates congress at the weekend.

A video of the Asantehene and President Mahama dancing to Daddy Lumba’s controversial ‘Yen tie obia’ song, went viral on the social media last week.

The video, which source is still not known, was believed to have been recorded when the Asantehene hosted President Mahama and other few dignitaries to a party at the Manhyia Palace.

This was after Otumfuo had accompanied President Mahama, who flew from Abuja, Nigeria, on that same day to commission the Kumasi Airport which had seen some improvement and could now operate 24 hours.

President Mahama made it clear that the massive improvement that the Kumasi Airport had seen would not benefit the Asantehene or the NDC alone, but every Ghanaian.

“The significant improvement at the Kumasi Airport will not benefit the NDC and Otumfuo alone, the facility will benefit every Ghanaian,” the first gentleman of the land pointed out.

He noted that his administration was working extremely hard to improve the aviation industry in the country.
