President John Mahama is scheduled to travel to Gambia on Wednesday for the West African nation’s Independence Day celebrations.
Mahama, who returned from Rome yesterday, is expected back in Ghana the same day after the celebration, Parliament was officially informed on Tuesday.
He visited Gambia late January on his way back from a state visit to Germany. It was a stopover visit in Banjul to show solidarity with Gambian leader, Yahyah Jammeh in respect of the recent attempted coup in the Gambia.
He was accompanied by the Vice President of the ECOWAS commission, Dr. Toga Gayewea Mcintosh.
