The New Patriotic Party has rejected claims that the party has held meetings in an attempt to dismiss Kennedy Agyapong, NPP Member of Parliament for Assin Central for some scathing remarks he is reported to have made against the party.
The Herald Newspaper on Wednesday reported that the leadership of the NPP has met to discuss possible sanctions against Kennedy Agyapong who criticized the party’s leadership for issuing a statement to dissociate itself from the alleged tribal comments made by Yaw Osafo Marfo.
But speaking to Citi News, the director of Communications of the party Nana Akomea dismissed the report and stated that Kennedy Agyapong was not under investigations.
“The party has not met to take any such measures on Kennedy Agyapong. At the last steering committee meeting this never came up. If the party has met formally at the steering committee level and taken such a decision, there will be official communication. If he will be under investigations by now he would have been called. I am sure when you speak to Kennedy Agyapong he will tell you nobody has called him as part of any investigation,” he explained.
