It is with a heavy heart that we release this statement. Our constituency has made two separate applications to the Tema Municipal Assembly to be given the permit to roll out our Party’s visibility program. This program will include erecting mini road side billboards, banners, posters, graffiti and stickers within Tema Central.

The first application letter was delivered to the HEAD OF TOWN & COUNTRY PLANNING, Mr. Tamakloe on  2nd February2015.

The second application letter (reminder) was also safely delivered to the same HEAD OF TOWN & COUNTRY PLANNING, Mr. Tamakloe on 17th March 2015.

We have received no response to any of our letters despite several calls on his cell phone and subsequent visits to the office of Mr. Tamakloe. The few times he has picked our calls, he only assures us of getting back to us after he meets with the MCE.

We are certain that we have followed legitimate methods and proper procedures to register our application to roll out our visibility programs within our constituency. We can only conclude that, the TMA is bent on frustrating our efforts to roll out our visibility programs.

Our billboards have been left to the mercies of the weather whilst our banners and posters are occupying space in our office. We strongly feel that this inaction from the TMA is deliberate. We have waited patiently for two months.

To date, we have received no response from them; not even a refusal letter. Mr. Tamakloe is not even taking our calls again.

Under the Laws of this country, any person or group of people who feel aggrieved that his/ her/their fundamental human rights have been violated may seek enforcement of those fundamental human rights in the superior courts of Ghana.

Our next line of action is to make an application for a MANDAMUS ORDER against the TMA. We will seek this order under C.I 47, order 67.
