Alhaji Haruna Halidu, made a surprise visit to the #DumsorMustStop vigil ground and nearly got attacked by angry protestors. He was protected by the police who there in their numbers to ensure a peaceful and well coordinated vigil from the University of Ghana, Legon old gate to the Tetteh Quarshie Roundabout.
The #DumsorMustStop campaign, championed by Ghanaian celebrities is to put pressure on government to solve the erratic supply of electricity which has lingered on for close to three years.
Alhaji Haruna Halidu, a member of government’s communication team, labelled Ghanaian celebrities above 30 years and unmarried as “prostitutes” and “irresponsible, for airing their frustration about the current power fluctuation in the country.
