Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah, former Joy FM morning show host, on Saturday, won the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary primary in Ofoase Ayirebi in the Eastern Region with 219 votes.
He beat John Obiri Yeboah and Bright Asamoah Acquah who polled 145 and 54 votes respectively.
Supporters of Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah who wore a white batakari poured powder all over him and sang songs of victory.
Speaking to PeaceFM's Nana Yaw Kese moments after the official declaration, the NPP Parliamentary Candidate-elect believed his five-point campaign message resonated with the delegates.
He however noted that 2016 is not a done deal yet for the NPP in the constituency but with the support of his fellow contestants and the party they can pool resources together for it to be a reality.
