Former Chief Scribe of the opposition New Patriotic Party [NPP], Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie has indicated that 22-year-old Francisca Oteng-Mensah will go through some training ahead of the parliamentary election in 2016.
According to him, the young lady who won last Saturday’s NPP parliamentary aspirant for Kwabre East Constituency was a novice – so would need help in appealing to the larger populace and we will offer that to her.
“We will have to train her. She is a novice. We will have to help her even in terms of taking her round to the chiefs and opinion leaders and all that,” he said.
Francisca Oteng-Mensah won Saturday’s primaries with 331 votes, beating the incumbent MP, Kofi Frempong who had 189 votes - the other contestant Adjei Sefa had 33 votes.
Speaking on Kasapa FM, ‘Sir John’ as affectionately called in political circles opined that delegates who voted for her might have been largely influenced with money after questioning her marketability if the party doesn’t help her prior to 2016 – “She did very little with her campaign”.
