Dr. Dickson Adomako, a defeated NPP Parliamentary aspirant, who contemplated going independent, has upon the advice of some delegates rescinded his decision and offered his unflinching support to the incumbent, Shirley Ayorkor Botchway.
Daily Guide reported that Dr. Dickson Adomako, one of the NPP parliamentary aspirants who contested the seat of Anyaa-Sowutuom felt cheated and was contemplating running independent in the constituency.
When contacted on Oman Fm’s "National Agenda" Morning Show, Dr. Dickson Adomako said he believes in democracy and therefore will support the choice of the delegates in the constituency, Shirley Ayorkor Botchway to fight to retain her seat.
“…I will fully support NPP with my resources and energy to wrestle power in 2016 for Nana Akufo-Addo…if I say I will work hard then it will start from my constituency; I have worked hard for many years and it is this same place I am going to work for Nana Akufo-Addo to get massive vote turn-out in 2016,” he assured.
Emphasizing on his promise to the party, Dr. Adomako said “I will help Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchway despite the call from many people to stand as independent candidate because the grounds will not favor the incumbent, but I’m firmed on my decision to support her and NPP”.
He stressed that NPP is in his blood thus losing the primaries will not make him abandon the party; insisting he is no more contemplating contesting as an independent candidate.
