Two parliamentary aspirants of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have picked nomination forms to contest the Tema West slot.

Mr Bill Boglo-Hedo, a Pensions Consultant, and Mr Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, a Vice Chairman of the Party, picked nomination forms on Thursday.

Mr Boglo-Hedo was the second to pick the form on the first day of the nominations period after Mr Samuel Ofosu Ampofo picked his without funfare.

Thirty year old Mr Boglo-Hedo, who is also a youth activist, is married with a child.
After picking the form, he told the media he was the best candidate to match the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) Carlos Ahinkorah, boot to boot to capture the seat for the party.

He said his intention to contest the primaries was in respond to the cry of the residents who were looking for hope.

According to him, he would see to the welfare of the people, listen to them and make himself approachable to them when elected.

Mr Boglo-Hedo stated that he was in the front line of the Tertiary Education Institutions Network of NDC (TEIN), at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) branch from 2005 to 2009.

He added that he was a member of the Youth for Mahama, Get John Evans Atta Mills Elected, and also a member of the Research Team of the party.

Mr Andrew Okine, the Tema West NDC Secretary, who handed him the nomination forms at about 14:25 hours, said he needed one person to propose his nomination, three to second, and one person from each of the 153 branches to endorse for him.
Mr Okine advised all aspirants to go on a clean sheet and engage in campaign without personal attacks on their contenders.

He added that the party would provide an even place for all candidates to get access to party members for campaign, and therefore asked them to maintain peace and order in the constituency.

Meanwhile, Kempes Papa Nii Ofosuware, former Tema Metropolitan Assembly Chief Executive, has picked his nomination form.

Mr Ofosuware, who was beaten Mr Titus Glover, the then New Patriotic Party (NPP) Candidate with only three votes, was accompanied by scores of supporters.
