Chieftaincy Minister Picks Nomination Form

Dr. Henry Seidu Dannaa, Minister of Chieftaincy and Traditional Affairs on Thursday picked a nomination form to contest the National Democratic Congress (NDC) primaries of the Wa East Constituency.

Dr. Dannaa, who hails from Torsa in the Wa East District, would be gunning for the position of Member of Parliament slot with the incumbent Member of Parliament, Mr. Aminu Salifu, who had also picked a nomination form to contest the primaries.

Mr Alban S.K. Bagbin, Current Member of Parliament for Nadowli/Kaleo Constituency, Mr. Joseph Yieleh Chireh, Member of Parliament of Wa West Constituency, all in the Upper West Region, are rumoured to be lacing up their boots to enter into the race to contest the primaries in their various constituencies.

Alhaji Rashid Pelpuo, incumbent Member of Parliament for the Wa Central is also in the race, and would be facing stiff competition from others contestants such as Dr. Musheibu Mohammed Alfa, Deputy Upper West Regional Minister and Mr. Issahaku Nuhu-Putiaha, Wa Municipal Chief Executive among others for the Wa Central seat.

Alhaji Amidu Sulemana, has also picked nomination forms to contest the primaries on the ticket of the NDC for the Sissala West Constituency.

A woman (name not yet known) is said to have picked a nomination form to challenge Alhaji Sulemana in the contest.

The incumbent Member of Parliament for the Sissala West Constituency, Madam Alijata Sulemana and Mr. Johnson Sabur, the District Chief Executive of Sissala East District had also picked nomination forms to sort it out for the Member of Parliament position.
