“Please rubbish the story circulating that I was arrested for impersonating as a national security officer. That is false. I wasn’t arrested. I went to the police station myself, the police is our friend and I am their friend as well,” - George Boateng denied his earlier arrest by the national security in an interview with NEAT FM.
George Boateng who declared his intention to contest President John Mahama in the NDC's presidential primary last year was alleged to have been picked up by National Security last Sunday night for impersonation.
According to Joy News - he was later handed over to the Airport police for taking monies from persons claiming he was a national security operative.
But George Boateng on NEAT FM’s 'Ghana Montie' programme claims the publication was false and must be treated with no seriousness.
He accused some individuals of the act and warned those orchestrating such stories to tarnish his reputation to put a stop to it.
