Upper West Regional Minister Alhaji Amidu Sulemana has taken a swipe at the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) for demanding to know the costs of projects implemented by the government.

According to the Minister who was speaking at the inauguration of youth working committees of the NDC at Lambussie on Sunday, the NPP should be last group to ask government for costs of projects.

He stated that the NPP while in power gave contracts for the construction of imaginary jubilee markets and schools which cannot be seen.

He explained, "I have the NPP asking us to tell them how much we used for the projects. Who are they to ask us this question? Before they left power in 2009 money was paid for the construction of imaginary jubilee markets and schools.

Did they tell us how much they spent? “Contracts were awarded but we cannot trace the documents. That is why a lot of uncompleted projects cannot be continued”.

Alhaji Sulemana therefore told the gathering to ignore the NPP whenever such issues crop up.

On whether the Wa hospital would be completed or not, Alhaji Sulemana added that the NPP has no history of building regional hospitals.

The Minister said, “the NPP cannot ask us when we will finish the hospital because they don’t know what it takes to build a regional hospital. They have no history in this area”.

The inauguration of the youth working committees is to help in the campaign process ahead of the 2016 elections.
